Notifications in Day.io remind you to clock in and out on time.
This article explains how to allow system notifications and activate punch reminders inside the app.

- Allow system notifications
- The first time you open Day.io or after reinstalling, your device will ask: “Allow Day to send notifications?”.
- Tap Allow so the app can send alerts for clock‑in, breaks and clock‑out.
- Activate the Punch Reminder in the app
- From Profile open Notifications.
- Find the Punch Reminders option and switch it on.
- Set the time when you want to receive the reminder (for example, a few minutes before your shift).
- Enable also the My Requests' status option. This notification is sent to update you about absences re status. For example: "Your Medical request was approved".
Tips or troubleshooting
- If you’re not receiving reminders, make sure notifications are enabled for Day.io in your device settings and that the Punch Reminder is turned on in the app.
- If you declined notification permission, your device may not prompt again. To enable later, go to Device settings > Notifications and enable notifications for Day.io.
Best practices
- Keep reminders enabled so you don’t forget to clock in or out.
- Set reminder times a few minutes before your scheduled start to prepare in advance.
