Remote punching allows employees to clock in/out outside the office while keeping control through location rules and verification.
Configuration is managed in Device settings and in Locations, where you can assign verification methods.
Key actions or configuration
Open Device settings
Go to Attendance.
Click Settings (top right).
Confirm the Device settings window opens.
Enable the App device
Select App.
Review the advanced options available.
Enable Allow to clock in/out from any location to support remote work.
Click Save.
- Registering the current location
- When clocking in, the employee simply taps to clock in/out.
- Tap the location name to open the list of options.
- One of the options will be "Current location", which will display the map.
Communicate usage to employees
Tell employees to select the correct location when punching.
Explain requirements on the selected method, GPS location should always be enabled.
- Tracking activities
- Dashboard menu in the app: Here you can see which employees worked or were absent yesterday, as well as who is already working (or not) today. As soon as an employee clocks in, they appear on the list immediately.
- Super Punch - Allows you to view employee timesheets in a completely intuitive way. In Super Punch, you can also approve and add punches and requests, all with bulk actions.
- Notifications - All activities that require communication between employee and manager have a Notification. When an employee submits a request for absence, vacation, or punch adjustment, or exceeds an overtime limit, the manager is notified immediately. The employee also receives a notification with the status of their requests.
- Reports - Managers have access to various time and attendance reports, which are updated in real time as employees clock in and out. You can generate and download reports in various formats.
Tips or Troubleshooting
If no verification method is set, the location shows a warning in the Validation tab.
If remote punches fail, confirm:
Allow to clock in/out from any location is enabled
the location is active
verification is configured
