When punches recorded by an employee are not displayed in Super Punch, one of the first things to check is the Schedule applied on the date being reviewed.
The Schedule defines how the workday should be organized, including planned hours, Entry, Exit, and breaks. When the employee does not have an active Schedule on that date, the platform does not have the reference needed to apply and organize the punches in Super Punch.
In this situation, the punches may have been recorded normally, but they will not be displayed or calculated until a Schedule is applied.
Important: having no Schedule is different from having a day outside the planned schedule. An employee may be assigned to a Schedule but have a day off or another date with no planned hours. Each situation requires a different correction.
1. Confirm the employee and the date being reviewed
Before changing any settings:
- Go to Attendance;
- Remain on the Super Punch tab;
- Select the employee;
- Select a period that includes the date on which the punches were recorded;
- Locate the day on which the punches are not displayed.
Confirm with the employee:
- The date on which the punches were recorded;
- The approximate times of the punches;
- The method used to record them, such as the mobile app, Kiosk, or another method allowed by the company.
This confirmation helps ensure that you are reviewing the correct date.
2. Check whether a Schedule is applied on the date
In Super Punch, review the Schedule column for the date being analyzed.
The employee may have no Schedule when:
- The Schedule column does not display a Schedule name;
- Planned Entry, Exit, and break times are not displayed;
- The day does not contain the expected categories for organizing the punches;
- The records reported by the employee are not displayed on that date.
Without an applied Schedule, the system cannot identify how the punches should be distributed throughout the day.
Example:
- The employee says they recorded an Entry at 08:00 and an Exit at 17:00;
- When the date is reviewed in Super Punch, no Schedule is displayed;
- The punches do not appear in the Entry and Exit categories;
- The employee must be assigned to a Schedule that is active on that date.
3. Understand the difference between having no Schedule and having a day outside the planned schedule
Before making a correction, identify which situation applies.
The employee has no Schedule
The employee does not have any active Schedule on the date being reviewed.
In this case, you must:
- Assign the employee to an existing Schedule; or
- Create an appropriate Schedule and assign the employee to it.
The employee has a Schedule, but the day is outside the planned schedule
The Schedule is active, but that specific date is a day off or does not contain planned work hours.
In this case, use one of the following options:
- Use Enable day directly in Super Punch for an occasional situation;
- Enable Allow punches in days outside the planned schedule in the Schedule when these situations occur frequently.
Important: do not use Enable day to correct an employee who has no Schedule at all. This action is intended for an unplanned date within an active Schedule.
4. Confirm which Schedule should be applied
Before assigning the employee, confirm:
- Which Schedule the employee should follow;
- The date from which the Schedule should be active;
- Whether the Schedule contains the correct work hours;
- Whether the breaks are configured;
- Whether there was a recent admission, team transfer, or Schedule change;
- Whether the previous Schedule ended before the punches were recorded.
Example:
- The employee should follow the Administrative Schedule;
- The previous Schedule ended on 06/30;
- No new Schedule was applied on 07/01;
- Punches recorded after that date are not displayed correctly in Super Punch.
In this situation, the Schedule effective dates must be corrected to cover the period without a configuration.
5. Assign the employee to the correct Schedule
When the Schedule already exists:
- Go to Schedules;
- Open the Schedule that should be applied to the employee;
- Open the Employees tab;
- Add the employee;
- Set the effective date so that it includes the date of the punches;
- Save the changes.
When an appropriate Schedule does not yet exist:
- Go to Schedules;
- Create a new Schedule;
- Configure the workdays and work hours;
- Add the necessary breaks;
- Review the other settings;
- Save the Schedule;
- Add the employee;
- Set the correct effective date.
Important: carefully review the effective date. If the Schedule starts after the date on which the punches were recorded, those records will continue without the reference required by Super Punch.
6. Return to Super Punch and review the punches
After applying the Schedule:
- Return to Attendance > Super Punch;
- Select the employee again;
- Select the corresponding period;
- Locate the corrected date;
- Confirm that the Schedule name is displayed in the Schedule column;
- Check whether the recorded punches are now displayed;
- Review Worked Hours, Extra Hours, Hours Bank, and Missing.
The applied Schedule provides the reference the platform needs to organize and calculate the punches for that date.
7. Organize the punches in the correct categories
After the punches appear, confirm that each time is associated with the correct category.
The most common sequence is:
- Entry;
- Break Start;
- Break End;
- Exit.
Example:
- 08:00 — Entry;
- 12:00 — Break Start;
- 13:00 — Break End;
- 17:00 — Exit.
When a time is associated with the wrong category:
- Open the category that should receive the punch;
- Select the available punch;
- Associate the time with the correct position;
- Review the full sequence again.
When the punches are out of order, you can also use Organize chronologically.
Important: organizing punches chronologically places the times in sequence, but you must still confirm that each punch is associated with the correct category.
9. What should I do if the punches still do not appear?
When the Schedule is already applied correctly, check:
- Whether its effective dates include the exact date being reviewed;
- Whether the correct employee was added;
- Whether another Schedule is applied during the same period;
- Whether the date is planned or outside the planned schedule;
- Whether the punches were synchronized with the platform;
- Whether the correct period is selected in Super Punch;
- Whether Enable day is required because the date is outside the planned schedule.
Do not change the Schedule again before confirming these items.
Tips and troubleshooting
- The employee recorded punches, but they are not displayed: first review the Schedule column for the date.
- The Schedule column is empty: assign the employee to a Schedule that is active on that date.
- The Schedule starts after the date of the punches: correct the effective date so that it includes the required period.
- A Schedule is applied, but the date is a day off: use Enable day for an occasional situation or review the setting for days outside the planned schedule.
- The punches appeared after the Schedule was assigned, but they are out of order: use Organize chronologically and review their categories.
- A punch appears in the wrong category: open the correct category and select the corresponding punch.
- A punch is still missing: create an adjustment only after confirming that the time is not available in another category.
- The records do not appear even with a Schedule: review synchronization, the selected period, and the Schedule effective dates.
- The employee recently changed teams or roles: confirm that the change also included assignment to the correct Schedule.
Best practices
- Always review the Schedule before concluding that there is an integration issue.
- When admitting or transferring an employee, confirm that a Schedule was applied.
- Avoid leaving periods without an active Schedule between one assignment and another.
- Review the start date before saving the assignment.
- Check Super Punch after correcting the Schedule.
- Organize the punches before validating or closing the period.
- Do not create new punches before checking whether the existing records are available in other categories.
- Distinguish between having no Schedule and having a day outside the planned schedule so that you can apply the correct solution.
Frequently asked questions
- Why are the employee’s punches not displayed in Super Punch?
One possible cause is the absence of an active Schedule on the date. Without a Schedule, the platform does not have the reference needed to organize and calculate the punches.
- How can I tell whether the employee has no Schedule?
Review the Schedule column in Super Punch. If no Schedule is displayed and planned hours are unavailable, check the employee’s Schedule assignment.
- Will assigning a Schedule make the punches appear?
When the Schedule is applied with effective dates that include the date of the records, the platform has the reference needed to display and calculate the punches in Super Punch.
- Which date should I use when assigning the employee to the Schedule?
Use an effective date that includes the first day on which the employee should have followed that Schedule, including the dates of the punches that need to be displayed.
- What is the difference between having no Schedule and having a day outside the planned schedule?
When the employee has no Schedule, there is no active configuration for the date. On a day outside the planned schedule, the employee has an active Schedule, but that specific date has no planned work hours.
- Can I use Enable day when the employee has no Schedule?
No. Enable day is used for a date outside the planned schedule within an active Schedule. When no Schedule exists, you must assign one to the employee first.
- The punches appeared, but they are in the wrong position. What should I do?
Organize the punches chronologically and, when necessary, move each time to the correct Entry, break, or Exit category.
- Do I need to recreate the punches that were not displayed?
Not necessarily. First, apply the Schedule and check whether the existing punches become visible. Create an adjustment only when a punch is actually missing.
- Does having no Schedule mean that the punch was not recorded?
Not necessarily. The employee may have recorded the punch, but it will not be correctly applied or displayed in Super Punch until an active Schedule provides the reference for that date.
