Day.io enables managers to monitor employees’ time records in real time.
All punches are synchronized across the platform and can be viewed via the Punch log, Payroll report, and Super Punch.
Key actions or configuration
- Punch log (Attendance > Punch log)
- From the side menu, go to Attendance > Punch log.
- The log shows all time records for all employees under your supervision. Use filters by period, Classification (Entry, Break start, Break end, Exit) and Status (Approved, Pending, Denied, Canceled or Invalid) to locate specific entries.
- Click an entry to see details such as time, location, reason, device used and approver (if applicable).
- You can Approve or Decline adjustments individually or in bulk on this screen.
- Use the export button to download the punch log as XLSX.
- Timesheet (Reports > Payroll Report)
- In the side menu, choose Reports > Payroll report and select the employee.
- The Report shows the employee’s processed punches, displaying only approved and classified punches.
- You can add or remove columns (worked hours, overtime, night hours, absences, etc.) by checking or unchecking their boxes.
- Export the Timesheet individually or for all employees in PDF, CSV or XLSX.
- Super Punch
- From the Payroll report, click the Super Punch button to open the individual punch grid.
- Super Punch displays punch status by color: green for approved, yellow/orange for pending and red for invalid and missing punches.
- It lets you view details, approve adjustment requests, review absence/vacation requests and add punches manually.
- Supports bulk actions: select multiple dates and apply actions like organize punches chronologically, clear punches, approve all, validate all and remove schedule.
Tips or Troubleshooting
- Use the search by employee or registration number to quickly locate records in the punch list.
- If the Payroll report columns do not appear, click the columns icon to customize the view.
- To edit an approved punch, submit an adjustment; the original record remains preserved.
Best Practices
- Regularly review the punch list to ensure there are no pending records close to closing time.
- Customize the Payroll report by adding columns relevant to your business (overtime, bank of hours, etc.).
- Use Super Punch bulk actions to save time managing punches.
