Access profiles can be customized for Punch management and Super Punch, allowing you to restrict or expand the actions each role can perform in the time tracking module.
These settings are found under Settings > Permissions, where each permission level (Administrator, Supervisor, etc.) can be adjusted.
This feature is used by system admins or HR to control who can create, edit or clear punch records.
Open Permissions settings
Click the user menu (top right) and select Settings.
Go to the Permissions tab. The left column displays available Permission levels.
Choose the permission level
Select the profile (e.g., Supervisor) you want to adjust.
Configure Manage punches
In the central list, find Manage punches and click the icon next to it.
A window titled Manage punches access appears with options:
Create retroactive punches on the punches page
Reject invalid punches
Check or uncheck as needed and click Save.
This controls whether the profile can create retroactive punches or reject invalid records.
Configure Super punch
Find Super punch in the list and click the icon next to it.
The Super punch access window opens with options:
Clear punches
Create punches only for empty slots (missing entries, with the "Missing" indication)
Create punches for non-empty slots
Organize punches (including organizing chronologically)
Select the actions allowed for the profile and click Save.
Tips or troubleshooting
Changes take effect immediately after saving; review carefully before confirming.
If a user cannot perform a specific action, check whether the relevant permission is enabled.
To fully revoke a feature, deselect all options for that topic.
Best practices
Grant punch creation and clearing permissions only to trusted users.
Periodically review permissions to ensure they align with company policy.
