To ensure each person sees only the dashboards relevant to their role, Day.io lets administrators define which Analytics modules each permission group can access.
This configuration lives under Company Settings > Permissions, where HR or account owners decide which dashboards (Absenteeism, Log of hours, Overtime, Absences, etc.) appear for roles like Supervisor.
This article explains how to adjust Analytics access at the group level rather than editing each employee.
Key actions or configuration
- Open the Permissions menu
- From the sidebar, go to Company Settings.
- Select the Permissions tab.
- Only users with settings access can edit these groups.
- Choose the group and open Analytics
- Click the name of the permission group you want to modify (e.g. Supervisor).
- In the list of features, find Dashboard.
- If a fraction appears next to it (for example,
2/7), click that number to open the Dashboard Access pop‑up.
- Select which dashboards are visible
- In the sub‑permission window, tick the dashboards the group should see, such as Absenteeism, Extra Hours, Absences, Irregularities and Team's Operation.
- Clear the boxes for dashboards that should not be visible.
- Click Save or Apply to confirm. The fraction indicator next to Dashboard updates with the number of dashboards allowed.
- Save and review
- After setting Analytics access, close the pop‑up or click Save.
- Repeat the process for other groups if necessary.
- Employees assigned to that group will only see the selected dashboards under Analytics.
Tips or troubleshooting
- Only administrators or users with Settings access can edit group permissions.
- If dashboards don’t appear after editing permissions, ask the user to log out and log in again or verify that they’re assigned to the correct group.
Best Practices
- Create dedicated permission groups for supervisors, managers and administrators, granting access only to the necessary dashboards.
- Review permissions regularly to keep sensitive information protected.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between ticking the checkbox and clicking the fraction? Selecting the checkbox next to Analytics enables all dashboards. Clicking the fraction (e.g. 2/7) opens the sub‑permission menu where you can select specific dashboards.
Can I restrict Analytics access by team or branch? Not directly in this setting; to filter data by team, department or subsidiary, adjust the scope in the permission settings on the employee's profile.
What does the 2/7 number next to Analytics mean? It indicates how many dashboards are enabled for that group. Click the number to modify the selection.
