In Day.io, employees can request absences or vacation directly through the browser, without paper forms.
The request is sent to the supervisor with the necessary information, and the platform controls vacation and absence balances. This article explains how to justify a period, report an absence, or submit a leave request through the computer.
Key actions or configuration

Open the Absence & Vacation menu
- Sign in to admin.day.io/login with your employee user.
- Click Absence & Vacation in the side menu.
- At the top of the page, click +New request.

Choose the category
- Select a category such as Medical, Vacation, or Other.
- Select Vacation for annual vacation.
- Select Health or Other for absences such as medical appointments, marriage, or personal matters.
- Choose the subcategory that best describes the absence.

Fill in dates and times
- Use All day if the absence covers the full working day or consecutive days.
- Leave it unchecked when the absence covers only a few hours.
- Enter the start and end times.
- Use Night shift when the absence is related to a shift that starts at night and ends the next day.

Finalize the request
- Select the subcategory according to company policy.
- Add comments or attachments if required.
- Click Confirm.

Use the Super Punch alternative
- Go to Attendance > Super Punch.
- Select your name and the desired day.
- Find the Paid Absence column.
- Click the plus icon.
- Fill in the same form described above.
