How to cancel an absence or vacation request for my employee?

Absence and vacation requests allow employees to request time away from work, whether for scheduled vacation or occasional absences.

Sometimes these requests contain incorrect information or the employee gives up the absence. In these cases, administrators or managers with access can cancel the request in the Day.io panel or through the app.

Cancellation is final and cannot be reversed.

1. Cancel from the computer
   • Sign in with administrator or manager credentials.
   • In the side menu, click Absence & Vacation.
   • Use search to filter by employee name.
   • Adjust the date period to find the correct request.
   • Use category or status filters if needed.
   • Open the request details.
   • Check dates, duration, category, justification, and approval flow.
   • Click Cancel request.
   • Confirm the operation.
   • The status changes to Canceled, and the employee is notified.

   • Open the Day.io app.
   • Sign in with administrator or manager credentials.
   • Tap Requests in the bottom menu.
   • Select the Team tab.
   • Open the request that needs to be canceled.
   • Scroll to the end of the screen.
   • Tap Cancel.
   • Confirm the decision.
