Administrators can decide which devices employees are allowed to use for punching in/out: App, Web (computer) and Tablet kiosk. These options are configured in Device settings under Attendance.
After enabling a device, each employee can be given access individually. Only users with administrative permissions can change these settings.
Open punch settings
From the left menu, go to Attendance and select Super Punch.
Click Settings. A Device settings window opens.
Enable devices
Under Allow employees to punch using, click the icons to enable or disable. A blue check mark indicates it is active:
App – punching via mobile app.
Tablet – punching via kiosk tablet with a token and facial recognition.
Web – punching through a web browser.
Configure advanced options (optional)
Selecting Web reveals Advanced settings. For App, you can set Punch Creation Options, Punch Assignment Options, allow punches from any location and enable facial validation.
For Tablet, you will see the Tablet Token, Kiosk access ID, and a toggle to Enable Facial Biometrics.
Save
After selecting the desired devices, click Save to apply changes.
Authorize employees individually (optional)
Click on People then open each employee's profile.
In the Punch settings tab, select which devices each employee can use, following the same instructions as the steps above.
Note: when changing settings at the individual level, only that employee will have these new time and attendance access permissions.
Tips or troubleshooting
Employees need valid login credentials to use the web interface.
Keep the tablet token confidential to prevent unauthorized use.
Best practices
Only enable the devices your company actually uses.
Review employee permissions regularly.
Combine facial recognition with location validation for increased security.
