A punch adjustment is used to manually register a punch that was not recorded at the correct time, whether due to forgetfulness, device failure, or inability to use the app.
In Day.io, administrators, supervisors, or employees with specific permission can add retroactive punches from the web panel. This keeps the workday complete and avoids impacts on overtime or absences.

What should I do if an employee cannot request a punch adjustment?
If the employee cannot find Super Punch or cannot create an adjustment in a Schedule position, HR or an administrator should review the permission level assigned to their profile.
Access is configured by permission level, not individually. Therefore, the change will apply to all employees assigned to the selected permission level.
To review it:
- Click your initials in the upper-right corner;
- Go to Settings;
- Open the Permissions tab;
- Select the permission level assigned to the employee — by default, this may be the Basic level;
- Under Attendance, locate Super Punch;
- Enable the main permission if the employee cannot view the module;
- Open Super punch access;
- Enable the required options;
- Click Save.
Choose the subpermissions according to the type of adjustment the employee needs to make:
- Create punches only for empty slots: allows adjustments to be created in Schedule positions that do not yet have a punch;
- Create punches for non-empty slots: allows adjustments to be created on days or positions that already have punches;
- Organize punches: allows the employee to reorganize existing punches;
- Clear punches: allows punches to be cleared through Super Punch while keeping the change history.
Example: if the employee can create a punch in an empty position but cannot request an adjustment on a day or position that already has a record, also enable Create punches for non-empty slots.
After saving, instruct the employee to access Attendance > Super Punch again and check whether the option is now available. The adjustment created will remain pending until it is reviewed by the person responsible for approval.
Important: if only some employees should have this access, create a specific permission level, enable the required options in it, and assign only the desired employees.
