Custom breaks let you create additional break types with your own names.
They can represent activities like training or meetings and may optionally count as working hours or ignore missing hours.
Only administrators or users with permission to Configure Schedules can manage these breaks. This feature adds flexibility to time tracking without altering the main schedule structure.
Access the Breaks tab
Navigate to Schedules and click the Breaks tab at the top of the page.
The list displays existing and custom breaks with columns Name, Working Hours, Ignore Missing Hours and Status.
Create a new custom break
Click New Break. A window appears.
Fill in the Name field with the desired label (e.g., Training).
Check Set as working hours if this break should count as working time.
Check Do not calculate missing hours for this break type if incomplete breaks should not create missing hours.
Click Add to save the custom break.
Manage existing breaks
Use the search bar to quickly find a break by name.
Newly created breaks appear in the list with status ACTIVE. Use Archive to deactivate a break that should no longer be used.
How breaks are displayed at Attendance

Tips or Troubleshooting
Custom breaks cannot be edited. To change a name or setting, archive the existing break and create a new one.
Use Set as working hours only for paid breaks; otherwise the time will not count as work.
Best practices
Choose clear, specific names for custom breaks (e.g., Safety Training, Team Meeting).
Use Ignore missing hours for short or flexible breaks that should not impact the schedule.
Periodically review the break list and archive any that are no longer needed.
